Pen Portrait/Experience

I have been Head teacher at Holmesdale for 10 years. I was previously the Deputy Head and before that KS1 Manager at St. Paul’s Primary school in Dorking.

Holmesdale is a school with 412 children and 50+members of staff. The school was graded as Outstanding in July 2007 and it has been my main priority to keep the school truly outstanding, not for Ofsted purposes but in the best interests of the children.

During my time at Holmesdale I have been both a FS Moderator and a KS1 moderator. I have enjoyed the experience of working with other schools and also keeping up to date with all the latest curriculum requirements and best practice.

I became an LLE in and have now applied to become an NLE.

I have been a Professional Partner to 4 different new Head teachers. They were all very different with different experiences and challenges. I very much enjoyed coaching and mentoring them and developing their leadership skills.

I am a support tutor for the Surrey South Farnham  SCITT.

As a school we have given School to School support for 3 different schools. This support has involved giving leadership support to the Heads and also using the expertise within Holmesdale to give the schools further specialist support as required.

CPD Delivered:

I regularly deliver Safeguarding and Restorative approaches training to staff.

I have also delivered many staff meetings to Holmesdale staff including how to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.

Currently I am delivering the Beyond Monitoring course with 2 other Head teacher colleagues and in conjunction with Babcock 4S
